Is it just me, or is Murray Head honestly trying to claim that tourists going to Bangkok – one of the world’s true capitals of prostitution and sex crimes – are unaware of its nature? Or indifferent to it?
I mean, I’m sure that there are some people who go to Bangkok for no reason other than to play chess, but they must be a very small minority of Bangkok’s total tourist trade. And it’s reputation as a city where any perversion can be purchased isn’t smoke and mirrors – there’s a fire beneath that smoke, burning up poor women and children on a daily basis.
Still, perhaps Murray is among those who are truly as pure as he claims to be. Which just goes to show how much variation there can be among siblings, given that his brother is famed for his portrayal of Dr. Frank N. Furter, amongst other roles.
