I’ve never, never seen Eden br>I don’t want to live in this place
br>Heaven, must be there
Look, I guess a band from Perth probably hasn’t been to Eden (which is a small resort town located so far south on the NSW coast that it’s almost in Victoria), or Eden (which is the fictional location of a certain Australian TV mini-series infamous for the ‘acting’ of James Reyne) or even to Eden (which has apparently been barred to casual visitors since about 4004 BC). I get that. (Although surely going to the one in NSW wouldn’t have been that hard to manage?) But why does the fact that you’ve never been to Eden logically imply the existence of a Heaven?
Actually, reading the words more carefully, I’m minded to ask: is this song an unusually musical suicide note?
