A guide to pop song lyrics that are self-contradictory, stupid, or just plain creepy.

I can’t be the only one to have noticed that the lyrics of many, many pop songs make almost no sense whatsoever. I’m not talking about someone just scatting out some random syllables – that’s a long and respected musical tradition, and one that I’m not unfond of. Nor am I talking about “word salad” lyrics where creating this effect was the intention. I’m talking about apparently sensible songs whose lyrics, upon closer examination, turn out to be self-contradictory, stupid, or just plain creepy.
